About Me

Hello and welcome! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 10 years of extensive experience working with clients with various concerns from different cultural backgrounds. As a part of my training, I provided therapy for both adolescent and adults in different settings treating mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder; and issues such as: adjustment problems, acculturation difficulties, low self esteem, life transitions, work or school stress, insomnia, breakups, and relationship problems.

I was fortunate to have been raised in the beautiful bay area and though I moved away briefly, I found myself relocating back to the bay area after I completed my practicum. It was here that I was able to gain experience and provide culturally competent treatment to the under-served Asian and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. My time serving this community taught me that everyone who has gone through much hardship in life has innate ability to be resilient and this is what I empower by clients to believe in as well.

Furthermore, my additional clinical experience revolves in working in medical setting where I worked as a part of a multi-disciplinary team providing evidence based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy. Being a part of a team reinforces my belief that therapy is a collaborative process and everyone, including clients themselves, has a unique role in making changes happen. Many may find that change can be uncomfortable, but allowing yourself to be present with the discomfort is the first step in giving yourself the opportunity to explore and adjust to the different chapters you will pass through in life. I hope that my role in therapy can help you gain clarity in ways to optimize personal growth.
